Garfield and Greek Life

**From my Tumblr**

So I have been reading Garfield comic strips lately (he is great, isn’t he?) and it really got me thinking…why does he remind me so much of FSL Students?  Why on earth would a stubby little fat orange cat on a comic strip remind me of college students?

Because of a few certain things. Garfield assumes he is master of the house, looks down on everything else, and expects things to be handed to him.

It is kind of sad that those are the connections I draw, isn’t it? I work with some amazing students, ones who can (and will) change the world. But for every one I get who wants to do great things, I work with ten that think they are better than everyone, twenty who think anyone not Greek is not worth their time, and thirty who expect that they are allowed to get away with any and everything.

Is it me, or is this a problem?
