Do you know the story…

Each and every Greek Organization has a different history, different roots, and were founded for a different purpose. One of my brothers gave me a reason why today is so special as our Founder’s Day.

180 Years ago on November 4th, 1834 at Williams College thirty men came together to form an anti-secret society against the undemocratic process of the secret societies on campus. The organization they formed was founded on the four principles of the promotion of friendship, development of character, diffusion of liberal culture, and the advancement of justice. 180 Years ago, the Delta Upsilon Fraternity was founded and am proud to be a brother of the organization still today.

Today is our Founder’s Day. 180 Years ago Delta Upsilon was founded as the Social Fraternity. We celebrate that today, on election day. We celebrate our history of opposing an undemocratic process on election day, when the democratic process is hopefully at its best. Personally, I find that to be a beautiful things for an organization. I chose to join this organization 4 years ago and with each passing year only grow prouder of my brothers, their commitment to our principles, and our history.

  • Promotion of Friendship
  • Development of Character
  • Diffusion of Liberal Culture
  • Advancement of Justice
